The last two weeks have been pretty much the same. I have been enjoying my evenings with no school work, and by enjoying I mean doing absolutely NOTHING! I feel like I am more tired now when I get home from work than I was when I was in school. I am hoping in the next few weeks I will get some energy. I hope I do because summer school starts June 7 and deep water aerobics starts up June 8. I am taking one 3 hours class over the summer and water aerobics June and July on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We did have our 16 week appointment on Friday, May 28. It went really well. Jeremy and I are learning that these early appointments are pretty quick ones. The doctor just asks us if we have questions, checks for blood pressure and urine protein, weighs me of course, feels for the top of my uterus, and finally listens for the heartbeat. The top of my uterus is now just below my belly button, which makes since because none of my pants are buttoning anymore. Joy! The highlight of the check up of course is listening to the heartbeat. Baby Will’s heart was beating away at 158 beats a minute. A healthy strong heartbeat and a normal sized uterus are about all we could ask for at this check up. We continue to pray that Baby Will will continue growing strong and healthy. We scheduled our next appointment, which is our sonogram appointment, for June 22. So, on June 22, we will hopefully find out if we will be having a little princess or a prince! This will also mark my 20 week progress, which seems crazy!!
Here is what is happening with Baby Will this week:
Baby Will’s skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — its lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and it’s around 5 inches long from head to bottom. Baby can move its joints, and its sweat glands are starting to develop.
Hope everyone is having a great start to summer. I know are weeks really seem to fly by. Look for the next post June 22!! We are so excited and can’t wait for our next appointment!!!
