8 Weeks!
If you are wondering what is going on with the baby, here you go!
Our baby is now 5/8 of an inch long, about the size of a kidney bean. New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from our baby's hands and feet, eyelids practically cover the eyes, breathing tubes extend from the throat to the branches of the developing lungs, and the "tail" is just about gone. Baby's arms have lengthened, too, and hands are now flexed at the wrist and meet over the heart. Baby's knee joints have formed, and the feet may be long enough to meet in front of the body. In baby's brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways.

6 Weeks
Well, I am now 6 weeks pregnant and have been feeling pretty well. I have been feeling a little nauseous now and then, sort of like a car sick feeling. I have been trying to drink a lot of water and eat better. The eating better things are harder than you would think. I have been trying to eat a little more fruit and veggies with my meals and snacks and I have cut caffeine out of my diet completely. Cutting out the caffeine was not as hard as I thought it would be. I am still working full time and taking 16 hours online working towards my elementary education degree. A lot is going on with me and I am looking forward to May for more than one reason. According to the online websites, here is what is going on with the growing baby:
The nose, mouth, and ears that you'll spend so much time kissing in eight months are beginning to take shape. If you could see into your uterus, you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where your baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. His emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and his arms and legs by protruding buds. His heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute -- almost twice as fast as yours -- and blood is beginning to course through his body. His intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to his lungs has appeared. His pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of his brain, muscles, and bones. Right now, your baby is a quarter of an inch long, about the size of a lentil bean.
5 Weeks!!
Well, all is well and good with me this week! I am feeling fine and have a few nauseous spells here and there but nothing to complain about. I am tired from time to time, but I was tired before all of this! I went to the doctors office for a blood test which confirmed our pregnancy. I will be honest, I was a little nervous sitting there waiting for the results. Thankfully the at home test was correct and we are indeed expecting!! I scheduled my meeting with my nurse on April 8, which will be about 9 weeks. I also schedule my appointment with my doctor (or nurse practitioner, my doctor will be on vacation) for April 27. It is hard to believe my first real doctors appointment will be at the end of 12 weeks!! I am not too concerned, I hope I shouldn't be! If I have questions, I am sure I will be able to ask some at that first meeting on the 8th. Well, not much change but sometimes that is a good thing! We are really, really excited and can't wait to tell everyone we know, but we are trying to keep it under our hat for a few more weeks. I am so bad at keeping secrets!! We will tell our families and that is it for now. It is so hard to believe that so much is going on inside me and I don't really feel much of anything. I am sure all of that will change before my very own eyes one of these days! Well, I am just going to keep taking my vitamins and drinking my water...and going to the bathroom!
WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!
Feb. 27, 2010
We found out we are pregnant today!! I can hardly believe this! I am so excited. Jeremy and I have been trying for a few months with no success and today we found out that God has blessed us with the most amazing gift! I know the next few months are going to be crazy with the many emotions and hormones that I will be encountering. I just continue to pray that all of this is part of God’s plan for our family and I trust in Him completely! Jeremy and I have decided to hold off on telling any of the good news for a little while because sometimes bad things can happen. We are hoping they don’t but we have to be realistic that they can happen. We may try to hold off until May, by then I will be out of my first trimester and hopefully had a sonogram to see our little baby. What a journey we have ahead of us and I am so thrilled to be on this ride. In November we are going to be adding a baby to our family! This is all so hard to believe still but also so exciting. Yes, I cried when I saw the results on that little stick! I am ready for the next few months of change…bring it on!
